Maggie Monroe / Seniors Advocate

Listening Before Taking Action
Maggie begins by learning what the senior has experienced, what the family has noticed, and what remains unresolved. Careful listening helps uncover concerns that others may have missed and gives each person the opportunity to speak without feeling rushed or dismissed.
"Seniors should not have to repeat the same concern
until someone finally decides it matters."
Standing Beside Seniors
Advocacy often requires asking questions, requesting answers, documenting concerns, and speaking up when something does not feel right. Maggie helps seniors and families raise issues involving care, protection, support, and services while staying involved
as the situation moves forward.
Connecting Advocacy to SID’s Work
Direct contact with seniors provides insight that reports and statistics cannot always show. Maggie brings those real experiences into SID’s programs, website content, outreach, and Quality of Life Checks so the organization’s work reflects the challenges seniors face every day.
Helping Wherever Needed
Small organizations depend on people who can handle more than one responsibility.
Maggie contributes to advocacy, program ideas, community outreach, communications,
and daily problem-solving while respecting the leadership and responsibilities
of each executive advocate.
