Julie Swartzlander / Grant Writer Advocate

Finding the Right Opportunities
With more than 25 years of experience securing grants for children’s hospitals and clinical research, Julie understands how to research grants connected to SID’s
mission, programs, and stage of growth. She brings that knowledge to SID at a time
when competition for grant funding continues to grow.
"Funding has become increasingly competitive, but a strong proposal can still open the right door. Securing a $4,000 grant for SID showed what is possible when the mission reaches the right funder."
Telling SID’s Story
Strong grant writing requires more than explaining what an organization does.
Julie brings together the needs of seniors, SID’s approach, and the difference
the proposed work could make—giving funders a clear reason to consider investing
in the mission.
Building Strong Proposals
Julie organizes program details, supporting information, budgets, goals, and expected results into complete and persuasive applications. She makes sure each proposal answers the funder’s questions, follows its instructions, and reflects meets submission requirements.
Preparing for Future Funding
As SID continues building its programs and documenting its work, Julie helps create
the language, materials, and grant records needed for future opportunities. Her work strengthens SID’s readiness to pursue funding as the organization grows.
