The Child Development Program in Kenya is a holistic initiative aimed at improving the well-being, growth, and potential of children in both urban and rural

Who Can Participate

Our membership includes three types of members:

Early Childhood Development (ECD)

At the heart of the program is Early Childhood Development, targeting children between the ages of 0 to 5 years. It focuses on foundational brain development, emotional nurturing, and early learning.

Through community-based ECD centers, children receive age-appropriate stimulation, structured play, balanced meals, and regular health checks. Parents are also trained in responsive caregiving and positive parenting practices.

Education Access

The program ensures that school-age children have access to quality education by providing school fees subsidies, uniforms, learning materials, and mentorship. Special emphasis is placed on girl-child education and children with disabilities. School retention campaigns and after-school tutoring help improve literacy and numeracy, while partnerships with local schools enhance teaching quality and infrastructure.

Nutrition & Health

Nutrition is a cornerstone of the program, with consistent feeding schemes established in ECD centers and primary schools. Malnutrition screenings are conducted regularly, followed by treatment and dietary supplementation where necessary. Health outreach efforts include immunizations, deworming, vitamin A distribution, and access to clean water and sanitation facilities.

Our Reporting Process

How it works

You do not need to understand the system or navigate it alone, so we keep the process simple and help guide you every step of the way

What We Provide

Depending on the membership plan and the senior's needs,
Seniors in Distress may provide:

  • Information

  • Guidance

  • Support

  • Advocacy

  • Follow-up

  • Check-ins and monitoring

  • Help finding services and resources

  • Communication with people or organizations involved in a concern

The services available depend on the Senior Member's plan and individual circumstances.

Advocacy Has Limits

Advocacy can help bring attention to a problem, ask questions, communicate concerns, identify options, find resources, report concerns, and follow up.

However, we cannot guarantee a particular result.

Doctors, care facilities, insurance companies, government agencies, service providers, family members, and other third parties make their own decisions
and may be outside our control.

Our Advocates Are Human

Our Advocates are expected to provide services with care, respect, and good judgment. They are also human.

Mistakes, misunderstandings, disagreements, and delays can happen. Members are encouraged to tell us when something does not seem right so we have
an opportunity to review and address the concern.

Not Professional or Emergency Services

Unless specifically stated otherwise, Seniors in Distress and its Advocates
do not provide medical diagnosis or treatment, legal representation, financial
or investment advice, or emergency response services.

When professional help is needed, an Advocate may help identify an appropriate professional, agency, or resource.

If someone is in immediate danger or experiencing a medical emergency,
call 911 or the appropriate emergency service.

Working Together

Members are expected to provide truthful information, communicate changes, provide reasonable cooperation, and treat Advocates and others involved
in their advocacy with respect.

Seniors in Distress agrees to provide the same basic standards of honesty, dignity, fairness, respect, and appropriate conduct to our members.

Privacy & Authorization

Participation as a Family Member or Caregiver Member does not automatically give someone access to a Senior Member's private information or authority
to make decisions for the senior.

Permission, legal authority, identity verification, or other documentation
may be required.

Membership Fees

Senior Member fees depend on the membership plan selected.

Approved Family Members and Caregiver Members participate without
a separate membership charge.

Additional services outside a membership plan may have separate costs,
which will be disclosed when applicable.

Ending Membership

Senior Members may cancel according to our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

Seniors in Distress also reserves the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate membership for serious or repeated violations of these Terms or our Membership Code of Conduct.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as our membership and advocacy services develop. Material changes will be communicated when appropriate or required.
