Senior Support Manager

LOCATION:

Fort Lauderdale, Florida

VOLUNTEER:

6-8 hours minimum per day

Seniors Advocates listen to concerns, identify distress, connect seniors and families with the right help, and follow through until issues are addressed

The Child Development Program in Kenya is a holistic initiative aimed at improving the well-being, growth, and potential of children in both urban and rural


Responsibilities

  • Speak with seniors and families by phone, video, or in person

  • Complete Quality of Life Checks in homes and care facility settings

  • Identify gaps in care, protection, support, and services

  • Document concerns, needs, and changes in the senior’s situation

  • Help seniors and families understand their options and next steps

  • Connect members with programs, providers, and public agencies

  • Follow up on referrals, appts, complaints, and unresolved concerns

  • Communicate with authorized providers, facilities, and service orgs

  • Report suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, or immediate danger through the proper channels

  • Maintain clear case notes and protect private information

  • Notify the team when a concern requires immediate or continued involvement


Qualifications

  • Experience with seniors, healthcare, social services, advocacy, or community programs helps

  • Compassionate, patient, and respectful communication

  • Strong listening, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to remain calm during difficult or sensitive situations

  • Willingness to follow procedures and professional boundaries

  • Comfortable documenting concerns and completing follow-up tasks

  • Ability to handle private information responsibly

  • Reliable transportation for in-person assignments

  • Willingness to complete required training and screening

  • Commitment to protecting seniors and improving their quality of life
